This new, critical infrastructure allows water to flow faster along the pipeline to Airlie Beach, Cannonvale and the coastal communities. The new reservoir will also allow for extra water storage.
Interesting facts:
The Whitsundays Regional Council had a budget of $16.6 million for the water pipeline between Proserpine and Airlie Beach. It was completed in July 2021.
